Description: EMPLOYMENT LAW ***** This course covers major labor and employment laws affecting the employment relationship and the government agencies that administer them. Specific topics covered include, legal restrictions on an employer's ability to discriminate against employees and applicants based on disability, race, gender, age, and other protected characteristics; employer obligations regarding workplace health and safety and the rights and protections available to employees when they take time off from work for health reasons; and the rights of employees to be represented by a union as well as the right of employers to oppose and prevent union organizational activities.
