Description: INTRODUCTION TO JAZZ ***** Section 1: Introduction to Jazz Topics in jazz analysis and performance. Examination of important jazz recordings and a consideration of the music's historical development and social context. Open to both music and non-music majors and to both jazz and classical performers. Prerequisites: ability to read music well and some previous study in music theory.
