Description: FOURIER OPTICS ***** Survey of optical diffraction and image formation using the technique of Fourier analysis. Both monochromatic and polychromatic light will be considered. Optical systems and system elements such as lenses, waveguides, gratings and interferometers are analyzed. Applications to holography, integrated optics and fiber optics are considered.
