Description: THE ORIENTAL RENAISSANCE ***** This course will explore the European and American encounters with India from 17th-century France to twentieth-century America. Particular attention will be given to the translation of Sanskrit texts, the English and German Romantic traditions, the depth psychology of C.G. Jung, and the American New Age. Graduate version of RELI 361 and ASIA 361.
