Long Title:
Department: *Computational & Applied Math*
Grade Mode: Standard Letter
Course Type: Lecture
Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisite(s): CAAM 453
Description: NUMERICAL ANALYSIS II ***** Iterative methods for linear systems of equations including Krylov subspace methods; gradient method for unconstrained optimizaiton; Newton and Newton-like methods for nonlinear system of equations, unconstrained optimization and nonlinear least squares problems; techniques for improving the global convergence of these algorithms. Theoretical and practical considerations for these algoritms will be discussed. ***** Prerequisites: CAM 453 or permission of the instructor. Computer programming in Matlab required.
