Description: NUMERICAL ANALYSIS I ***** Construction and analysis of numerical algorithms for root finding, interpolation and approximation of functions, quadrature, and the solution of differential equations; fundamentals of computer arithmetic; solution oflinear systems, least squares problems, and eigenvalue problems via matrix factorizations; the singular value decomposition (SVD) and basic sensitivity analysis. ***** Prerequisites: CAAM 335 or permission of the instructor. Computer programming in Matlab is required.
