Description: RELIGION AND SOCIAL CHANGE IN SOUTH ASIA ***** The course will explore connections between religion and social and historical change in Colonial and Post-Colonial South Asia, with a focus on Hindu, Buddhist and Shia Muslim communities in India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Particular attention will be given to issues of religious identity and inter-religious conflict. ***** Also offered as ASIA 355.
