Description: POLITICS OF THE JUDICIARY ***** This course explores the role of courts and judges in American politics. The main objectives during the semester will be to illustrate the major characteristics of judicial institutions in the United States and provide an understanding of the forces influencing judicial decisions. The course will cover the federal and state organization of trial and appellate courts, judicial selection methods, and the politics of judicial decision-making. Enrollment is limited to 75.
