Description: AESTHETICS ***** DISTRIBUTION COURSE GROUP 1 ***** An introduction to the philosophy of art. The course draws upon traditional and contemporary philosophical theories and upon examples drawn from the visual, literary, and performing arts (including architecture) to address questions such as: What is a work of art? What factors enter into the way spectators and performers interpret artwork? What makes a work good? Can art speak the truth?
