Description: HISTORICAL LINGUISTICS ***** DISTRIBUTION COURSE GROUP 2 ***** Exploration of the nature of language change in its phonological, morphological, syntactic, semantic, and sociocultural aspects, using the perspective of language acquisition. Includes techniques of internal and comparative reconstruction of proto-languages. Required for linguistic majors; may substitute LING 315. ***** Prerequisites: LING 200, 300, or 301. ***** Also offered as LING 305.
