Description: U.S. WOMEN'S HISTORY I: COLONIAL BEGINNINGS TO THE CIVIL WAR ***** DISTRIBUTION COURSE GROUP 2 ***** 'U.S. Women's History: Colonial Beginnings to the Civil War.' This survey of American women's history examines the lives of elite, working, black, Indian, and white women, and traces changes in women's legal, political, and economic status from the mid-17th-century through the Civil War. Readings emphasize women's engagement with Revolutionary politics, slavery, divorce law, temperance agitation, and the origins of American feminism. Offered with additional work as HIST 391.
