Description: INTRODUCTION TO PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE ***** Introduction to the study of the Portuguese language and culture with emphasis on the development of listening, speaking, reading and writing. This course uses textbooks as well as music, websites and videos for access to various kinds of cultural material and pretexts for communication. Includes one hour/wk of lab work. Portuguese 101 is designed for students with little or no knowledge of the Portuguese language. ***** Enrollment limited to 20.
