Description: Los Alamos, Trinity, Hiroshima. This course surveys the complex historical, political, cultural, and moral dimensions of the atomic age, from the discovery of radioactivity in the late nineteenth century through the Manhattan Project, the development of the atomic bomb, and the subsequent Cold War arms race and its environmental legacies.
