Description: This course focuses on understanding the pluralistic nature of early Christianity from its grassroots beginnings in a commune in Jerusalem to its growth in Egypt, Syria, Asia Minor, North Africa, and Rome. Different Christian movements are studied comparatively as well as historically. Take-home exams.
