Description: This course combines basic physical principles with vector calculus to derive many important partial differential equations governing motion of fluids and solids. Topics include stress, strain, idealized fluids, linear elasticity, acoustics, basics of thermodynamics, Navier-Stokes. Cross-list: CAAM 436. Recommended Prerequisite(s): CAAM 336 Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for CAAM 535 if student has credit for CAAM 436.
