Description: This course introduces the processes that shape Earth and other planetary surfaces as well as how records of these processes are preserved on landscapes and in sediment deposits. This course will cover a range of topics including surface hydrology, erosion, sediment transport, and chemical weathering and connect them to the development and interpretation of the stratigraphic record. All topics will be treated using descriptive (qualitative) approaches as well as a range of quantitative methods. This course requires a once-a-week 3-hour lab. Prerequisites EEPS 101/ENST 101 or EEPS 107/ENST 107 or EEPS 108 or EEPS 110 or EEPS 111 can be taken concurrently or with permission of instructor. Recommended Prerequisite(s): MATH 101, 102, PHYS 101 or 111, CHEM 121 or 151.
