Description: This advanced seminar analyzes interdisciplinary efforts by scholars of religion to engage scientific research in the cognitive and neuro- sciences. We assess the possibilities for collaboration, as well as conflict, between humanistic and scientific disciplines, asking how the tools of interpretation and empiricism might enrich our understanding of religious phenomena. Cross-list: RELI 563. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for RELI 362 if student has credit for RELI 563.
