During the first half of the Spring semester, we will be reading early Jewish apocalypses. Then, during Spring Break (March 16–23, 2025), a group of students from Leipzig, Germany, will come to Rice for a joint block seminar on the apocalypse in the New Testament. Rice students (graduate AND undergraduate students) who take this class must be at Rice during the entire Spring Break for the joint Rice/Leipzig seminar. Graduate students will have 8 additional books assigned to them with the expectation of reporting back to the class; two 6- to 8-page research papers; and a final research paper with a length of 15-17 pages. Graduate/Undergraduate Equivalency: RELI 339. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for RELI 510 if student has credit for RELI 339.
