Description: This course focuses on the financial theory and market features underlying some of today's most pressing financial topics. Students learn about information asymmetry problems and understand how no-arbitrage concepts apply to valuation of financial instruments. Through this lens, we explore current issues in financial markets, how they affect a firm's ability to raise external capital to fund investments, and how markets and financial intermediaries assist in this. The learning experience includes faculty lectures, case studies, small-group projects, guest lectures, and discussions.
