Description: Formation and differentiation of Earth and Planetary systems. Structural seismology and the composition of the Earth and our solar system’s planetary interiors. Earth's gravity, geoid, density, and moment of inertia. Heat flow and Earth energetics. Earth's core and magnetic field. Mantle convection and plate tectonics. Oceanic and continental lithosphere. Graduate/Undergraduate Equivalency: EEPS 645. Recommended Prerequisite(s): MATH 212 Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for EEPS 445 if student has credit for EEPS 645.
