Description: Earth’s climate is a chaotic system, characterized by nonlinear interactions between the ocean, atmosphere, and land surfaces. This course will focus on the dynamics of the ocean and atmosphere, including the drivers of large-scale circulation, heat transport, and modes of natural variability. We will also explore projections of future climate change scenarios and records of historical climate change. Students will learn to post-process climate model output, analyze, and map these data using Python. Graduate/Undergraduate Equivalency: EEPS 633. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for EEPS 433 if student has credit for EEPS 633.
