Description: This course is designed for currently enrolled undergraduate students to gain exposure to the medical setting and develop professional skills, while earning course credit. The purpose is to allow you to explore careers in the health professions through exposure to medical shadowing and the healthcare industry. Normally this course includes an observership with physicians at Houston Methodist Hospital but given the COVID-19 pandemic, this portion has temporarily been removed for the Spring 2021 semester. However, this portion of the course has been replaced with additional expert guest lectures, case studies, informational interviews, and simulation exercises to provide as much exposure to the medical field, as permitted given these times.
