Description: Introduction to the history of Spanish culture and civilization, establishing a foundation of the study of contemporary social, economic, and political realities of the country. Course will examine economic development and Spain's place in the European Union; the recent economic crisis; labor reform and its impact; and the phenomenon of immigration. Previously offered as SPPO 392. Mutually exclusive. Credit cannot be earned for SPAN 393 if student has previously taken SPPO 392.
