Description: Manipulation of gene expression in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Rational design and directed evolution for cell and protein engineering. Selection and screening technologies and process optimization. Synthetic Biology: engineering and application of gene circuits. Molecular biotechnology applications: Diagnosis, Therapeutics and Vaccines. Recommended Prerequisite(s): CHBE 310/510 or equivalent is highly recommended.
