Description: Benjamin has been celebrated as a revolutionary Marxist, a theologian of Jewish Messianism, and as an essayist and literary critic. The course offers an introduction to his writings by way of situating them in the historical background of the Weimar Republic and the crises of European society on the eve of WWII.
