Description: An introduction to issues specific to the acquisition, collection maintenance, display and publication of arts from the ancient Mediterranean, and to the civic engagement and operation of a small, important collection, specifically the Menil collection. Additionally, graduate students will engage in directed research on artifacts using archival records, library resources and the objects themselves. Cross-list: HURC 308, HART 312, HART 540. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for HURC 508 if student has credit for HURC 308.
