Description: This course will give an introductory level experience of prints and printmaking through the study of original works on paper and the opportunity to produce printed works of art. We will visit museums, galleries, and private print collections in Houston. In the studio, course participants will experiment with the methods and materials that they have studied in the artists’ works, producing their own etchings, a lithograph, a linocut, and monoprints. This course has limited enrollment. The roster is formatted on the first day class by the instructor, who may allow additional registration for majors and underclassmen. It is necessary to attend the first class meeting to confirm your place on the class roster.
