Description: Infinity, once only a philosophical concept, now rigorously supports scientific research and inspires creative works. This course presents mathematical and cultural perspectives on infinity from a diversity of times, places, and peoples. We will consider historical attitudes towards the concept as well as its modern uses in science and art.
