Description: This course will examine the popular religion in the Middle East from Late Antiquity until the 19th century, focusing on healing practices, astrology, protection, amulets, seasoned/life-cycle rituals, and other popular beliefs common to Islam, Judaism and Christianity. Graduate/Undergraduate Equivalency: RELI 441. Mutually Exclusive: Credit cannot be earned for both RELI 525 and RELI 441.
