Description: Examination of paradigms in Biochemistry and Cell Biology with a focus on the "central dogma" of molecular biology. Recommended strongly for students with Advanced Placement in Biology and designed for prospective BIOC majors. This course is strongly recommended as preparation for BIOC 341 (Cell Biology). RESTRICTIONS: If taken one semester before taking any other 300-level BIOC course, this course can count as a 300-level Natural Science/Engineering Elective (for those majoring in Biochemistry and Cell Biology), or as an elective 300 level BIOC lecture course (for those majoring in Biological Sciences). Recommended Prerequisite(s): Recommended strongly for students with Advanced Placement in Biology and designed for prospective BIOC majors. For students with AP credit for BIOS/BIOC 201, this course is strongly recommended as preparation for BIOC 341 (Cell Biology).
