Description: Examination of the basic principles of drawing and representation, with emphasis on studio practice, art history, and theory. Includes categories of representation (e.g., still life, landscape, and figure) and the process of making drawings, as well as related readings, group discussions, and writing assignments. This course has limited enrollment. The roster is formatted on the first day class by the instructor, who may allow additional registration for majors and underclassmen. It is necessary to attend the first class meeting to confirm your place on the class roster.
