Description: Molecular mechanisms of eukaryotic cell function. Structure, function, and biogenesis of all subcellular organelles. Cell-cell communication, cytoskeleton assembly and function, cell cycle control, and cell-cell adhesions. Emphasis will be on cytoplasmic events; molecular studies of transcription is taught in BIOC 344. RECOMMENDATION: BIOC 300 is recommended for students using advanced placement credit for BIOC 201 (BIOS 201) and students preferring additional foundational background prior to enrollment in BIOC 341.
