Description: Investigation of the nature of linguistic representations from corpus-based analyses as compared to more traditional methodologies. Includes the collection of individual text data (or the exploration of existing text sources), the use of various text analysis programs (e.g. concordance software), and the production of lexical, syntactic, semantic, discourse, or cultural analyses of selected texts, using computer-based methods. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for LING 330 if student has credit for LING 530.
