Description: This course draws on critical disability studies and medical anthropology to explore how gender and sexuality matter in contexts of illness and disability across a range of institutional, social, and national contexts. We pay particular attention to the ways illness and disability expose, disturb, or retrench normative arrangements of gender. Credit cannot be earned for ANTH 354 and ANTH 554.
