Description: FALL 2014: This course provides a survey of scientific research on gesture. We explore topics such as the role gesture plays in communication, whether gestures help us think, and the neuroscience of gesture. SPRING 2015: This course will explore the ways in which hip hop artists, as public figures, mobilize linguistic variation to construct personae and representations of local experience. Repeatable for Credit.
