Description: Art historians, especially in the United States, tend to rely on photographs, but a study of the actual object is invaluable in studying works of art. This course aims to inform students about the technical study of art, which in the last fifty years has become a major field of research. Most classes will be held at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, or other Houston collections. Cross-list: HART 549. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for HART 307 if student has credit for HART 549.
