Description: Surveys the historical development and central themes of Jewish mysticism. Moving from ancient Gnosticism to medieval Kabbalah to modern Hasidism, we critically reflect on the divine presence in the world, the cultivation of insight and magical powers, contemplative and restorative practices, charismatic authority, the anti-legalism of spiritual growth.
