Description: Introduction to the theory and practice of teaching a second language. Includes the process of language learning viewed from social, psychological, and linguistic perspectives, as well as commonly used teaching "methods," such as the audio-lingual method, situational language teaching, the natural approach, and TPR, among others. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for LING 340 if student has credit for LING 540.
