Description: Course content varies from year to year. Spring 09 Description: This course will serve to introduce the students to basics of natural language processing, understanding and generation. We will cover topics ranging from finite-state automata, to n-gram, Hidden Markov, and Maximum Entropy models. These topics will be extended to part of speech tagging, syntactic and statistical parsing, automatic speech recognition, speech synthesis and information extraction. Repeatable for Credit.
