Description: Filmmaking is a simple, unique, and, most importantly, fun way to develop creativity and self-confidence. This course will teach you the basics of making and editing simple films in both an individual and group setting. Over the course of the semester you will learn how to make various types of videos: video blogs, sketches, music videos, and more. This course will teach you filmmaking styles and techniques used in videos found primarily in media such as YouTube and Vimeo. “Filmmaking for Fun” is more lighthearted and fun than a standard introduction to film course. You don’t need to own professional editing software or a fancy camera (or any camera at all); all you need is a bit of creativity and the desire to try new things. After each class, there will be an optional hour where the instructor will stay in the room and help any students who have questions regarding editing videos.

Its history has been indelibly tied to our own, and we will develop a critical framework that will change the way you approach your morning cup of joe. We will prepare different types of coffee every day, exploring social movements surrounding coffee culture from different countries. You will develop critical analysis and debate skills, and a deeper understanding of what it means to consume coffee. My wish is that by the end of the class, you will understand the diverse cultures of coffees, and how coffee is evocative of deep inequalities throughout the world.
