Description: For students with no background in Chinese. Students will learn Pinyin writing system, vocabulary and structure required for basic communicative tasks. No prior knowledge of Chinese needed. Credit may not be received for both CHIN 101 and CHIN 222.

Description: INTERMEDIATE CHINESE CONVERSATION ***** Three week semi-immersion intermediate Chinese course on listening and speaking with minimal emphasis on the learning of characters. Course aims to help students develop oral fluency at the sentence-to-paragraph level and the ability to perform communicative tasks to satisfy various personal and social needs through classroom activities and lab assignments.
