Description: From exorcism to other worldly visions, we experience religion as embodied human beings. This course explores embodied religion by focusing on connections between pain and transcendence, looking at medieval Christianity as well as contemporary and cross-cultural examples. Graduate students will do additional presentation, extra reading, and longer final essay. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for RELI 566 if student has credit for RELI 305.
