Description: Graduate seminar provides an introduction into the historiography of the Atlantic World, especially Africa and the British Atlantic during the 17th and 18th Centuries with comparison to France and French Caribbean and to Iberia and Spanish and Luso-America. Thematic topics will include commercial networks, political/imperial/legal structures, and slavery.
