Description: Students will be introduced to the history of oil in Africa (downstream and upstream). Key foci: 1) exposure to global oil history and Africa's place in it; 2) the origins and impact of the "Oil Curse; 3) developing skills in critical analysis of historical documents and texts related to oil.
