Description: Focusing on social theories of magic from Durkheim to Tambiah, this course will also investigate how the idea of magic is already embedded against religion in theological writings. Graduate work includes extra reading, additional seminars, and a more extended final project. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for RELI 541 if student has credit for RELI 317.
