Description: Introduction to the study of the Portuguese language and culture with emphasis on the development of listening, speaking, reading and writing. This course uses textbooks as well as music, websites and videos for access to various kinds of cultural material and pretexts for communication. Includes one hour/wk of lab work. Recommended prerequisite(s): No prior knowledge of Portuguese.
