Description: The primary goal of this course is to introduce important current developments in the field of nanomaterials and nanomechanics. The course will discuss synthesis and characteration of nanomaterials, the behaviors especially mechanical behaviors in the broad sense of such materials, and their technological applications. The basic physics and fundamental mechanisms responsible for nanoscale induced changes in properties will be stressed.
