Description: Interdisciplinary introduction to the main currents of Russian literature, culture, and history from the foundation of the medieal Russian stat until the beginning of the Soviet state. Readings will include medieval epic poems, fairy tales, and authors such as Pushkin, Lermontov, Gogol, Turgenev, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, and Chekhov.
