Description: Nanotechnology is science and engineering resulting from the manipulation of matter's most basic building blocks: atoms and molecules. This course is designed for humanities and science students who want to explore the content of nanotechnology, (e.g., the methods of visualization, experimentation, and manufacture, and technical feasibility) with the social context of nanotechnology (issues of ethics, regulation, risk assessment, history, funding, intellectual property, controversy and conflict). Preference will be given to freshmen and sophomore students. Register for CHEM 235 to receive Group 3 distribution credit; register for ANTH 235 to receive Group 2 distribution credit.
