Description: Capoeira is a truly unique art, combining martial arts, dance and music. Classes emphasize strength, coordination, agility and self-defense. The energy of the game, the rhythm, and speed are determined by the music, led by the berimbau, an African string instrument. Students will learn the history, traditions, and essential moves and strategies, as well as how to play the music and put all these skills together in the roda (circle where Capoeira is played). Prerequisite: Successful completion of LPAP graduation requirement.
